Beth and her husband homeschooled their three children through graduation, a seventeen-year journey that brought both highs and lows, but one they do not regret! While Beth has a B.S.Ed. in Mathematics, the most helpful tools in her homeschool experience were prayer and determination. She has been on staff at SCAIHS since 2013 and loves sharing her triumphs and failures with other homeschoolers!
Rebecca homeschooled for two years and taught seventh through twelfth grade English for seven years prior to joining the SCAIHS staff in July of 2005. Rebecca enjoys working with families as they home school their middle and high school students. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family.
Cathie comes to us fresh from 24 years of home-schooling, having home educated her four children through all ages and in all SCAIHS departments! Cathie studied architecture at Clemson University graduating with a B.A. in Design. She loves to talk about home schooling and looks forward to helping guide you as you home educate your children for God’s purposes.
After 23 years of being away from SCAIHS, Lisa returned to work for the Middle/High School department. Now with 5 years of homeschooling under her belt, she’s enjoying the opportunity to assist the department in supporting home school parents again.
Emily has been on staff since June of 1994. Having been a classroom teacher for ten years prior to coming on board, Emily now finds great joy serving and working with families home schooling their elementary students! She also has a passion for music and enjoys teaching piano and serving as pianist at her church!
Linda M. Dixon
Linda has served in private Christian education for over 30 years. Her extensive background includes elementary and high school teaching, guidance counseling, facilitating accommodations, and serving as the Director of the Guidance Department. She has joined the staff here at SCAIHS in February of 2020. Her passion is to help students become all that God has designed them to be. Linda and her husband, Dr. Larry Dixon, have been involved in serving the Lord their entire marriage, both in the States and overseas
Katina Prescott is originally from central Vermont. She received her degree from North Greenville University where she met her husband. In 2004, she began her career in office administration at North Greenville University, and then at Southern Wesleyan University. Concerned about the quality of her daughter’s education, Katina began homeschooling in 2013. Due to her husband’s declining health, Katina went back to work full-time while her husband homeschooled their two children. In 2015, Katina started working at SCAIHS, advancing to the role of Administrative Director. After her husband passed away in 2018, Katina enrolled her children in private school. In January of 2022, Katina began homeschooling again because of some challenges with her son who is on the spectrum. As a single homeschooling mom, working full-time, she has a special heart for helping SCAIHS families succeed.
Louise spent the past 16 years homeschooling her two children through SCAIHS. She has a B.A. in Elementary Education from Newberry College and an M.A. in Early Childhood Education from the University of SC. Her 30 years of teaching experience has allowed her to work with students from pre-K through college in homeschool, co-op, public school, and private school settings. She is excited to be working with families that are teaching elementary aged students. It is her favorite age group!
Savannah graduated from Clemson University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a minor in Russian Area Studies. A home school student from preschool until eleventh grade, Savannah brings a special touch to our team. As a child, she was able to experience the birth and growth of homeschooling in South Carolina. Involved in various kinds of homeschooling, Savannah truly understands what it means to tailer education toward the child’s needs. She is eager to help parents find the right fit for their child and their family.
Meredith started her career as a special education teacher in the public-school setting. She has had the unique opportunity to teach in three states since then. Each state brought new perspectives and challenges. All the while, better sharpening her understanding of special education processes and procedures. Meredith is overjoyed to be joining the SCAIHS family. She desires to honor God in this position as she uses her knowledge and expertise to serve you and your family. Off the clock, you will find Meredith walking her dog, Bessie or traveling with her husband, Michael.
Paola Correa is the mother of four beautiful children, whom she has homeschooled for the past 13 years. Two of them have graduated from SCAIHS, and she still continues to homeschool her two younger children. Accounting and Production Management are her previous endeavors for both architectural and printing companies. She loves encouraging and exhorting others in their homeschooling journey.
Beth began her homeschool journey with her two children, Daniel and Samantha when their family moved to Columbia in 2006. She earned her Master’s in Early Childhood from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she grew up. She has 25 years combined teaching experience in Public, Private and Homeschool teaching pre-school through Second Grade in private and public schools, classes for elementary and middle school homeschool co-ops, and graduating her own two children as homeschoolers. Her family enjoyed homeschooling especially the memories made many special field trips, history projects, and art camps. She is excited about continuing to work with home schoolers through SCAIHS. She enjoys activities with her church, book clubs, movies, and visiting out of town family and friends
Jessica homeschools her children and enjoys encouraging other homeschool families on their education journey. She has previously taught in elementary and middle schools and has taught piano and music theory to all ages. She enjoys traveling with her family and spending quality time with her husband and girls. Her motto for homeschooling is “While Homeschooling isn’t always easy, it is always worth it.”
April began her teaching career in 1997, in a small Christian School in Indiana. Since then, she has homeschooled her three children and taught in four different states in both the private and the public-school setting. She is a certified early childhood, elementary and literacy teacher. April and her family moved to South Carolina in October 2020 to restart a church where her husband is the lead pastor. She is honored to join the SCAIHS team as her desire is to help all students and parents experience joy in the journey of discovering knowledge.
Brantlee Taylor is an educator who seeks to partner with the students and families of SCAIHS on an adventure of learning. She is a PhD student and will earn her Education Specialist degree from Columbia International University in December. Brantlee brings thirteen years of home education and nine years of classroom experience to the families she serves. She is excited to strengthen and steward relationships and resources that inspire and innovate learning among home educated students.
Brantlee celebrates life with her husband, Gary, and children, Brooks and Blair. She enjoys reading and collecting books, spending time in the mountains of North Carolina, hot coffee, and the antics of her Australian labradoodle, Wicket Magnolia.
