Beth Martin

Middle and High School Director

Beth's four years teaching middle school math in the public school played an instrumental role in leading her and her husband to homeschool their three children. Seventeen years later, Beth's three homeschool graduates are succeeding in college and she is happily sharing her triumphs and failures with other homeschoolers!

Rebecca Pope

Middle and High School Assistant Director

Rebecca homeschooled for two years and taught seventh through twelfth grade English for seven years prior to joining the SCAIHS staff in July of 2005. Rebecca enjoys working with families as they home school their middle and high school students. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family.

Cathie Marshall

Middle and High School Counselor

Cathie comes to us fresh from 24 years of home-schooling, having home educated her four children through all ages and in all SCAIHS departments! Cathie studied architecture at Clemson University graduating with a B.A. in Design. She loves to talk about home schooling and looks forward to helping guide you as you home educate your children for God’s purposes.

Jan Lane

Administrative Assistant for the Middle and High School Department

After graduating from Ohio State University, Jan worked for the federal government in the computer field until she began her seventeen years of homeschooling her four children. Jan enjoys traveling, painting, kayaking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren

Emily Lipscombe

Elementary Director

Emily has been on staff since June of 1994. Having been a classroom teacher for ten years prior to coming on board, Emily now finds great joy serving and working with families home schooling their elementary students! She also has a passion for music and enjoys teaching piano and serving as pianist at her church!

Sarah Filbey

Elementary Counselor

Sarah has an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s degree in Language and Literacy from the University of South Carolina. She is a former first grade teacher and has been on staff here at SCAIHS for nearly 5 years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 children

Michelle Fryer

Elementary Counselor

Michelle has homeschooled her three children over the course of the last 13 years with the invaluable help of SCAIHS. The Fryer family has enjoyed being part of Providence Athletic Club for the past 8 years. Mrs. Fryer served as Director of Softball (3yrs), Cross Country (6yrs) and Basketball (3yrs). Mrs. Fryer enjoys boating, bike riding, music, and family time.

Special Needs Department

Carol Kurlowich

Director for Special Needs

After nearly 25 years of homeschooling, Carol is enjoying sharing her passion and rich years of experience with families of children who learn differently. Before earning her B.S. in elementary education, Carol discovered a heart for special learners through watching her younger brother struggle with learning differences. Many years later, the Kurlowich family was blessed with a daughter affected by Down Syndrome, opening one of the most exciting adventures of their lives!

Linda M. Dixon

Special Needs Counselor

Linda has served in private Christian education for over 30 years. Her extensive background includes elementary and high school teaching, guidance counseling, facilitating accommodations, and serving as the Director of the Guidance Department. She has joined the staff here at SCAIHS in February of 2020. Her passion is to help students become all that God has designed them to be. Linda and her husband, Dr. Larry Dixon, have been involved in serving the Lord their entire marriage, both in the States and overseas


Katina Prescott

Administrative Director

Katina has been on staff since June 2015. With 6 years of experience homeschooling her two children she is finds joy in helping other homeschooling families.

Carme Johnson

Administrative Assistant

Carme grew up and did her undergraduate studies in Barcelona, Spain, and later earned an M.A. in Linguistics at USC. She has taught Spanish at the college and high school levels. Since “graduating” from homeschooling her 5 daughters, she enjoys helping other homeschooling families at SCAIHS.
