Dear SCAIHS Member,
First of all we want you to know that the SCAIHS board and staff are praying for you and your family during this unprecedented time in the life of our state and our nation. While our way of life has been unexpectedly disrupted, as homeschooling families we are blessed that our children’s education can continue with minimal disruption. Be sure to contact your counselor if you have questions about adjusting your work due to illness or your co-op closing. As always, we are here to help and support you as you teach your children at home.
SCAIHS group testing was originally scheduled for April 14-15. Because the tests have to be ordered next week and we want to respect the recommendation to limit gatherings of 10 or more people, we are canceling group testing for this year. (A full refund will be issued to those who have already paid.) Instead we are pleased to be able to offer online testing, which is an affordable and convenient option that can be conducted at home. Usually we ask that parents send these year-end test results to the office by June 7. This year we are extending the deadline to August 1.
Our staff and counselors will continue to be available to help you with any needs, questions, and concerns that you have as you homeschool your children. For the time being, appointments with your counselor can be conducted via phone or Skype. Our bookstore will be available by appointment.
President Trump declared Sunday March 15, as a national day of prayer. He said, “We are a country that throughout our history has looked to God for protection and strength in times like these.” We would encourage you all to pray for God’s strength and protection in the coming weeks.
